1,2,3 Breathe: Managing the Stress Response with CBT Skills

September 10 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

In this virtual presentation Dr. Johns, will go over Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This technique is supported by research as an effective modality for treating trauma and stress responses.

These stress reduction exercises are foundational practices for managing the physical stress response and triggered anxiety responses, which result from traumatic experiences.

The goal of providing several simple skills is that participants will have the opportunity to practice each skill and find one or more that is effective for them.

Dr. Keri Johns is an Associate Psychologist with Cognitive Behavior Therapy Associates of Denver.  Dr. Johns specializes in evidence-based psychotherapies for mood and anxiety disorders.  She works with clients experiencing depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.  She has expert training and experience helping individuals overcome insomnia with Cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I).  Dr. Johns also specializes in health anxiety, helping clients to live a full and meaningful life with chronic illness and chronic pain.

The presentation will be recorded.
